Jason was born and raised in Ontario. He went to the University of Guelph where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nutritional Sciences. He then went on to complete the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2003.
Jason and his wife Lisa moved westward to the Calgary region in 2003 where he was an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice for several years. To further his skills as a small animal veterinarian he joined an emergency hospital in Southern Calgary, which is where he met Dr. Plenzik. Dr. Plenzik and himself opened Cornerstone Square Veterinary Hospital in January of 2008. Jason loves to educate people on how to optimize the health of their pets and keep their relationship with their animals strong. Jason strives to make his clients feel comfortable and be the best communicator he can be.
Jason and Lisa have a very busy household with 3 young kids (Madison, Jordan and Jack), 3 young dogs (Lolipop, Finn and Rocco), 2 cats (Spark and Mali) , 3 fish tanks (a goldfish tank, a tropical tank and Jason’s prize saltwater tank) and a hermit crab tank. Jason has always had a keen interest in marine life, which lead him to complete an Aquavet program out of Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
In Jason’s leisure time, he loves to get out camping with his family, paddleboarding, cycling or exploring new places on his motorcycle.
