When you stay on top of your pet’s veterinary exams, you commit to their health. Annual wellness exams help us maintain your pet’s health and happiness. They give us a head start on preventing and treating any symptoms before they cause any real damage. To learn more about our veterinary exams, call us at 403-242-0045.
How often should my pet have a veterinary exam?
We recommend scheduling your pet’s veterinary exam once a year and twice a year for senior pets. Pets are great at masking their pain, making it harder to notice or diagnose any symptoms before it’s too late. Together, we can work to create a treatment plan that meets all your pet’s unique health needs. Our team is happy to set up a reminder for when your pet is due for their next wellness checkup. All you have to do is give us a call, and we’ll take care of the rest.
What do you check during a veterinary exam?
Our veterinarians will start with a full-body physical exam during a wellness exam. This can be helpful when looking for any visible signs of disease, such as redness or loss of hair. To get a better overview of your pet’s health, we will also ask you questions to better understand their current diet, exercise, behaviour, and lifestyle. Some of the things we examine during the checkup include:
- Their weight and temperature
- Their skin, eyes, and vision
- Their teeth and dental hygiene
- Their heart rate
