Why is it important to deworm my pet?

Parasites and worms can negatively impact your pet’s health and cause pain and life-threatening issues if left untreated. When you deworm your pet, you keep them, other pets, and humans safe from contracting and transmitting harmful diseases. We recommend deworming puppies and kittens every 2 weeks until they are 3-months-old. As they grow older, our veterinarians will create a parasite prevention plan tailored to your pet’s unique needs and lifestyle. Symptoms your pet may have worms include:

• Weight loss
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Blood in their stool
• A bloated stomach

Can I get worms from my pet?

Just like our pets, humans can get worms and parasites as well. This is why we recommend wearing gloves or thoroughly washing your hands when picking up their feces. Worms can be contracted through this process and, if left untreated, can cause serious health issues for humans. When you bring your pet in for deworming, you protect not only your pet’s health but also yours.
