How often should my pet have a veterinary exam?

We recommend scheduling your pet’s veterinary exam once a year and twice a year for senior pets. Pets are great at masking their pain, making it harder to notice or diagnose any symptoms before it’s too late. Together, we can work to create a treatment plan that meets all your pet’s unique health needs. Our team is happy to set up a reminder for when your pet is due for their next wellness checkup. What do you check during a veterinary exam?

Our veterinarians will start with a full-body physical exam during a wellness exam. This can be helpful when looking for any visible signs of disease, such as redness or loss of hair. To get a better overview of your pet’s health, we will also ask you questions to better understand their current diet, exercise, behaviour, and lifestyle. Some of the things we examine during the checkup include:
