Lottie RVT

I grew up around pets from a young age thanks to my parents’ love of dogs, and got our first of several Flat-Coated Retrievers, Pickle, when I was 5. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to work in the veterinary industry both in the domestic animal world and in the wildlife sector, so after graduating high school, I completed my Animal Biology specialization degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta. This then led me to Olds College where I graduated with my Animal Health Technologist diploma (with distinction) in 2017. Since then I have been working at Cornerstone Square as an RVT where I love that as a team we can still have fun whilst helping pets and their wonderful owners.

I find the investigative side of medicine fascinating and love working closely with the DVMs to work up those tricky cases. I also enjoy learning about pet nutrition and how the right diets can help support the pet through whatever life stage or illness they may be going through.

Despite all this, I haven’t forgotten my love for wildlife (especially birds!), and have been working part-time at a local wildlife rehabilitation centre since graduation. I currently have a 3-legged black rescue cat named Loon and in my spare time love visiting my family and all the animals at the acreage, hiking, reading, and bird watching!
